Humane Society of Charlotte

A nonprofit animal rescue working to champion the wellbeing of companion animals and strengthen their bond with the people who know, love, and need them through low-cost vaccine clinics, educational programs, and community resources.

From 2022-2025, I was the graphic designer for the Humane Society of Charlotte (HSC). During my time with the organization, I worked on numerous design projects for all of the departments - Adoptions, Admin, Clinic Services, Community Services, Education, Events, Marketing, Philanthropy, and Volunteers.

Events

HSC hosts several annual events that have been community staples for years - Pet Palooza, Rescue Brew, Plates for Paws, and Ties & Tails Gala. For each event, I was tasked with designing print and digital marketing pieces and day-of collateral, signage, and apparel and merchandise.

Notable Projects

When HSC moved into their new Animal Resource Center in 2022, they purchased several new vehicles to use for animal transport. I designed van wraps for these vehicles to showcase former HSC alumni and highlight HSC's many services for the community using HSC's bright branded colors and a fun theme of animals sitting in a caravan to make a quick impression.

I developed and designed the annual Rescue Brew calendar, which sold hundreds of units each year. Each month features the winning Top Dog and Queen City Kitty, as well as 10 runner-ups, and includes important animal welfare-related tips pertaining to that month. The calendar includes photos of all Rescue Brew entries, as well as important HSC dates and holidays.

I resurrected the organization's online store with newly designed apparel and merchandise. Once the Retail Center in the Animal Resource Center was running, HSC began carrying a select handful of these designs for customers to purchase in-person. The most popular designs have been the Pup/Meow-lloween series and Grateful Pet.
